Skeletons in the Closet Tour of Oakwood Cemetery

Every family has a few skeletons in the closet, and the legendary Packard family of Warren, Ohio is no exception. From failing business ventures to an embarrassing arrest, an undisclosed disease to a “rather unfortunate” marriage, the Packards had their share of and misfortune and heartache. Fortunately for us, not all their family secrets went to the grave.

To learn more about this illustrious family and the skeletons in their closet, join us for a family reunion of sorts when we present the Packard Genealogy Tour of Oakwood Cemetery on Sunday October 24, 2021.

Participants will visit the graves of brothers William Doud and James Ward Packard, who founded Packard Electric and the Packard Motor Car Company, along with the final resting places of their wives, father, sister, aunt, uncle and cousins, along with W.D.’s son, grandchildren and a few assorted in-laws.

Rain or shine, the entertaining and educational tour begins at Oakwood Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Cost is $10 per person register online or at the museum prior to the tour--no tickets will be sold on the date of the tour. Be sure to order your tickets now reservations are limited to 20 people!
