Facts & Figures
- The National Packard Museum is a non-profit organization established in 1990.
- The museum was located at three different locations in Warren, Ohio before the current facility opened in July, 1999.
- The collection contains Packard models made between 1900-1956.
- Our current expansion is funded through Federal grant and donations.
Blueprints & Timing
- On July 20, 2008, the museum broke ground for a 10,000 square foot addition and renovation of the existing facility.
- Blueprints are available for viewing at the Museum.
News & Updates.
- The Grand opening of the expanded facilities will be during the 2010 Car Show "The Glory Days"
- As of mid January, the heat is on and the interior mechanical construction is underway.
- The Archive Vault is recieving floor tile and final wiring. The Vault will soon be ready for use.
- The cold storage facility is completed and is in use.
- As of mid February, the ceiling gridin the great hall is now in place, overhead lighting grids and recessed lighting are being installed. The communication, computer, and security wiring is complete.
- Humidification units have been installed and wired, completling the high efficiency climate control system.
- Ceilings in the expanded offices and new convenient North Entry are being installed.
- Our archive vault is being prepped for blueprint files, file cabinets, and desks with built in overhead lighting for research. We expect to begin moving the archive materials in the next two weeks. Volunteers have completed the quarry tile floor.
- Upon moving the archives, we will begin floor preparation to move the museum store to the new North Entrance. Included in the store expansion is a large storage area for overstock and seasonal materials. We will include reusing our art- deco antique cabinets and wall units in the store area.
- When the weather breaks, the outside finishes will be installed, and landscape details will be finished. The North parking area will be refurbished allowing easy access to the museum.
- We will again have to shuffle the annual motorcycle exhibit to the South end of the Legacy Hall to allow work to be completed on the new entry and store area.
